SAM is a youth-led community for mental wellbeing in Bangladesh. We think people heal better when they feel they belong — so we build the belonging first.
Mission & vision
To improve mental wellbeing by creating safe spaces where people can share their stories, connect with others, learn from reliable resources, and grow together as a community.
We aim to reduce stigma, encourage empathy, support youth leadership, and make mental wellbeing conversations more accessible across Bangladesh.
A Bangladesh where asking for help is normal, where mental health is openly discussed, and where no one goes through difficult moments alone.
A country where the mind is treated with the same care as the body — because before work, before grades, before productivity, the mind comes first.
Our philosophy
Everyone deserves a safe place where they feel accepted — before anything else is asked of them.
Mental wellbeing should be understandable and accessible. Written plainly. Rooted in evidence.
Real, unhurried conversations are how communities become strong — and how people become less alone.
Growth happens together. When we support each other, we all become stronger — slowly, quietly, honestly.
What we believe
Many organisations focus on awareness campaigns. Many platforms only provide counselling. We take a different approach.
We build community first. Because people are more likely to seek help when they first feel understood and connected.
Instead of only asking, “how do we treat mental health?” — we ask, “how do we create a society where people feel safe enough to talk about it?”
That is why storytelling sits at the heart of everything we do.
